Paper Pumpkins for fall decorating!

Paper Pumpkins for fall decorating!

It’s so simple to create these Paper Pumpkins – perfect for fall decorating!   I used the “Color Me Autumn” Designer Series Paper from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog (page 41) and cut the 12″ x 12″ paper into 1″ x 6″ strips.¬† Stack 6 strips at a time¬†and punch a hole at each end (about 1/4″ from the edge) with the 1/8″ Circle Handheld Punch.¬† Repeat for the other 6 strips (you’ll need 12 total for each pumpkin) and then stack all 12 strips and add a brad at each end.¬†¬†Begin separating the strips until you have them all fanned out to create the pumpkin shape. I used some of the green paper (from the same Color Me Autumn DSP) and die-cut some leaves using the Autumn Accents die.¬† You can die-cut 3 pieces of the paper (2 if you’re using cardstock) at the same time too.¬† I folded the leaves in half to crease them down the middle for a little extra dimension¬†and added them to the paper pumpkins with glue dots. I doubled up the Linen Thread and tie a bow and added it to the yellow paper pumpkin with a Glue Dot.¬† I used some thicker twine for the orange one.¬† If you want to see the other side of the designer series paper, just use less strips (6-8) and they will be spaced further apart. You can watch a video tutorial for these¬†paper pumpkins¬†at my Keenan Kreations YouTube channel: Here are the supplies I used:   Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog   Contact me if you would like to order Stampin’ Up! products (Brenda@keenankreations.com) or click the “Shop Online” link to the right if you prefer to place your order directly at my online store ūüôā Here’s another picture showing some of the other patterns from the “Color Me Autumn” Designer Series¬†Paper:   Do you see the smaller one in the front?¬† I used 8¬†strips¬†of the patterned paper (3/4″ x 4″¬†). It’s also pretty easy to slide the strips open and close so you can add candies inside and give them as treats ūüôā Thank you for stopping by today!¬† I hope you’ll create some of these paper pumpkins as gifts for family and friends or¬†as decorations for the fall season...

Oh I love the techniques you used for it. The way you alternated the stamp images makes it look so much better than some other random stamping I have seen. Thank you so much for sharing this.”¬† Linda K “That’s a lovely card – and your “fix” idea is fabulous! Create a beautiful embossed background for your cards!

Create a beautiful embossed background for your cards!

You can create¬†a beautiful embossed¬†background using Sponge Daubers and inks!¬† The Lovely Lace Embossing Folder from Stampin’ Up! is perfect for this technique. ¬† This card would work for a variety of greetings but I chose the one from Thoughts & Prayers.¬† I also stamped the greeting a little more to the left to leave room for the butterfly .¬† Here’s the list of supplies with measurements: Stamps:¬† Thoughts & Prayers, Papillon Potpourri Inks:¬† Pistachio Pudding, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, Strawberry Slush Paper:¬† Pistachio Pudding (8-12″¬†x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″), Whisper White (embossed layer 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″, 2nd layer¬†and inside layer 4″ x 5-1/4″) Accessories:¬† Lovely Lace Embossing Folder, Label Card Thinlits, Labels Collection Framelits (next size up from the smallest), Bitty Butterfly Punch, White Organza Ribbon, Dimensionals, Rhinestones, Sponge Daubers Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog   The first step in creating this beautiful embossed background is to emboss the Whisper White cardstock (3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″) with the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder and Big Shot (on tab 1).¬†¬†You’ll then use Sponge Daubers to add ink to the raised embossed images.¬† The daubers fit perfectly on your fingertip and you just pat or rub across the ink pad to pick up some of the ink.¬† Be sure to go in a soft, circular motion when adding the ink.¬† It’s better to start with too little ink because you can always add more but if you start with too much ink, you can’t remove it. I added the White Organza ribbon around the embossed and sponged cardstock and tied a knot in the front before layering it to Whisper White cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″) and then to the front of the folded Pistachio Pudding cardstock.   Here’s another picture of the Embossed Envelope.¬† You could also add ink to the embossed images on the envelope but I like it left all white.¬† Don’t you love how the framelit from the Label Card Thinlits layers perfectly with the Labels Collection Framelits?   I decorated the inside with a few of the sponged embossed images by trimming around the edges and adding to the inside with adhesive.¬† You can also watch a video tutorial for this card at my Keenan Kreations YouTube channel: If you’d like to purchase the products used to create¬†this beautiful embossed background, ¬†you can contact me or click the “shop online” link to the right if you prefer to place your order at my online...

Faux Embossing Technique

Faux Embossing Technique

Faux Embossing is a VERY fun technique that gives the illusion of embossed images.¬† I shared this card recently on my Keenan Kreations Facebook Page: This card uses the following Stampin’ Up! supplies: Stamps:¬† Flower Patch, Thoughts and Prayers, Papillon Potpourri Ink:¬† White Craft, Lost Lagoon Paper:¬† Whisper White, Lost Lagoon Accessories:¬† White Seam Binding Ribbon, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Labels Collection Framelits, Label Card Framelits, Pearls, Dimensionals The directions for faux embossing are pretty simple: Stamp the bold image numerous times¬†in White Craft ink on Lost Lagoon cardstock Allow the White Craft ink to dry (you can use the Heat Tool to speed up the drying too) Clean the stamp Stamp the same image in Lost Lagoon ink directly on top of the White Craft ink image but just slightly offset Clean the stamp if it picks up some of the White Craft ink so you don’t transfer that to the Lost Lagoon ink pad Repeat for the remaining images I decided to use the Faux Embossing technique on the other colors from the 2014-2016 In Colors and varied the layouts just a bit:   This card uses the Mossy Meadow cardstock and ink along with White Satin ribbon and the Label Love stamp set and coordinating Artisan Label punch.¬† I also popped up the center panel (Mossy Meadow 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″ layered to Whisper White 3-3/4″ x 5″) on Dimensionals.   This card uses the Tangelo Twist cardstock and ink along with the¬†Four You stamp set, White Organza Ribbon and Circle Card Framelits.¬† The center panel measurements:¬† Tangelo Twist 3-3/4″¬†x 5″ layered to Whisper White 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″.   This card uses the Hello Honey cardstock and ink with the White Seam Binding, Four You and Papillon Potpourri stamp sets.   This card uses the Blackberry Bliss cardstock and inks along with the Label Love and Papillon Potpourri stamp sets.¬† You can see I was off a bit on that center flower.¬† I was using the Flower Patch stamp set which is Photopolymer and even though you can see through the stamp, it was harder to line up once the stamp was inked in that dark Blackberry Bliss.¬† I should have used the Stamp-a-majig for better alignment.   There’s also¬†a video tutorial for this technique using a different stamp set on my Keenan Kreations YouTube Channel at:¬† https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEKjK8vKE-g&list=UU9o_5t1Dod5Xn3rVTcLBqJg   This technique also works best with a bold image stamp.¬† If you haven’t already, please follow me on my Facebook page and subscribe to my YouTube channel ūüôā I hope you enjoyed todays’s projects featuring the Faux Embossing technique and will be inspired to create something pretty today...
