Quick and Easy Valentine cards!

Quick and Easy Valentine cards!

I have several Quick and Easy Valentine cards created using new products from the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog!  You can view the new Occasions Catalog by clicking the link in the right side bar. Be sure to leave me a comment below on which is your favorite and I’ll randomly select one to receive their favorite card 🙂 All of these cards use products from the “Sending Love” suite (pgs 14-15 of Occasions catalog): Sealed with Love Bundle #144705 $45.75 includes the following at a 10% savings: Sealed with Love stamp set (#142815 $21) Love Notes Framelits Dies (#142752 $30) Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack #142733 $10 I had planned on using Basic Black and Real Red but didn’t have any black ribbon so Smoky Slate won out 🙂  I really like this color combination as it’s a little unexpected for Valentine cards.  I had some scrap pattern paper left over so I cut out 3 of the images and matched them to the pattern with Dimensionals.  I think this card would be really sweet for just about anyone – Valentine cards are not just for your sweetheart! This card is a little different in that the base is Basic Black that measures 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4.  The Whisper White measures 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″ folded and is layer to the Basic Black.  These little envelopes are super cute and a fun embellishment for our cards.  The framelit that die-cuts the hearts note also die-cut the “LOVE NOTE” one 🙂 This may be the quickest and easiest of the Valentine cards shown today but it still has a lot of fund little details.  The stitching is created with the new Stitched Framelits and a little bit of sparkle is easily added with a thin strip of the Silver Glimmer Paper. I think this Valentine card has a bit of a “tuxedo” feel to it and is masculine enough to give to your husband – will definitely be going to mine 😉  I opted for a clean and simple look and resisted the urge to “bling” it up. Sale-a-bration is also going on now and you can earn a free Sale-a-bration item for every $50 in product.  View the details at http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/brendakeenan/promotions or click the link in the right side bar to view the Sale-a-bration brochures now! Remember to let me know which card is your favorite for a chance to receive as a thank you from me for taking the time to leave a comment 🙂 I hope you enjoyed these quick and easy Valentine cards using new products from the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog and will be inspired to create some of your own for family and...

New Stampin’ Up! catalogs!!!

The new 2016 Stampin’ Up! Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs are now live!!! If you haven’t already received the catalogs in the mail, you can view them online by clicking the links in the right sidebar 🙂 Here are a couple of projects using new products from the 2016 Stampin’ Up! Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs: These cards actually have very little stamping and the gorgeous Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper makes for a pretty quick and easy project.  This paper has several patterns with solid images that coordinate with the Botanical Blooms stamp set and is designed to have you stamp the details on top of the images on the paper. The stamp set is also available as a bundle option (save 15%!) with the Botanical Builder Framelits dies which is used to create the dimensional flower and leaves. The card below shows a different variation of the paper and I did not stamp any details on the flowers or leaves – still pretty! The greeting is from the Perfect Pairings set from the Sale-a-bration catalog which is free with a $50 order!  The base of these cards is the Thick Whisper White cardstock and all the supplies are listed below: Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog If you are new to the Sale-a-bration promotion, here are the details: Shop! Paper Scraps for cards

Paper Scraps for cards

If you have a ton of paper scraps (like me!), here’s a fun way to create a colorful background for cards 🙂   (This card was inspired by Nancy Amato at http://stampinallnight.blogspot.com/2014/07/designer-series-paper-sunburst-card.html ) I kept this card pretty simple since there’s a LOT going on in the background with all the patterns and bright colors from the “Sweet Taffy” Designer Series Paper.  It’s SUPER easy to create the “sunburst” pattern: Cut 6 strips to 4 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ Cut the strips from one corner to the opposite to create long, thin triangles Add adhesive to completely cover scrap cardstock (3″ x 5″) Start at the bottom center and add the first piece with the smallest point at the bottom Continue adding strips, one next to the other, until the background is completely covered Turn over and trim off all the excess paper Layer to Whisper White cardstock (3 1/8″ x 5 1/8″) Layer to Tempting Turquoise cardstock (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″) with Dimensionals Stamp the greeting in Tempting Turquoise on Whisper White cardstock and die-cut with the Deco Labels Framelits Add greeting to the card with Dimensionals (single layer of Dimensionals at the top and double layer at the bottom) Stampin’ Up! has recently announced their retiring products and I am determined to use up most of my pretty designer series papers before the new catalog is release on June 3rd.  Don’t you think this is a great way to use paper scraps for cards?
