Quick and Easy Valentine cards!

Quick and Easy Valentine cards!

I have several Quick and Easy Valentine cards created using new products from the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog!  You can view the new Occasions Catalog by clicking the link in the right side bar. Be sure to leave me a comment below on which is your favorite and I’ll randomly select one to receive their favorite card All of these cards use products from the “Sending Love” suite (pgs 14-15 of Occasions catalog): Sealed with Love Bundle #144705 $45.75 includes the following at a 10% savings: Sealed with Love stamp set (#142815 $21) Love Notes Framelits Dies (#142752 $30) Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack #142733 $10 I had planned on using Basic Black and Real Red but didn’t have any black ribbon so Smoky Slate won out   I really like this color combination as it’s a little unexpected for Valentine cards.  I had some scrap pattern paper left over so I cut out 3 of the images and matched them to the pattern with Dimensionals.  I think this card would be really sweet for just about anyone – Valentine cards are not just for your sweetheart! This card is a little different in that the base is Basic Black that measures 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4.  The Whisper White measures 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″ folded and is layer to the Basic Black.  These little envelopes are super cute and a fun embellishment for our cards.  The framelit that die-cuts the hearts note also die-cut the “LOVE NOTE” one This may be the quickest and easiest of the Valentine cards shown today but it still has a lot of fund little details.  The stitching is created with the new Stitched Framelits and a little bit of sparkle is easily added with a thin strip of the Silver Glimmer Paper. I think this Valentine card has a bit of a “tuxedo” feel to it and is masculine enough to give to your husband – will definitely be going to mine 😉  I opted for a clean and simple look and resisted the urge to “bling” it up. Sale-a-bration is also going on now and you can earn a free Sale-a-bration item for every $50 in product.  View the details at http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/brendakeenan/promotions or click the link in the right side bar to view the Sale-a-bration brochures now! Remember to let me know which card is your favorite for a chance to receive as a thank you from me for taking the time to leave a comment I hope you enjoyed these quick and easy Valentine cards using new products from the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog and will be inspired to create some of your own for family and...

2016 Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog is here!

2016 Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog is here!

This post will showcase Christmas cards using new products from the 2016 Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog! All of these images from the Santa’s Sleigh set are stamped in Black ink on colored cardstock (Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Soft Suede) and die-cut with the coordinating Santa’s Sleigh Thinlits.  Purchasing both items together as a bundle – #143499 Santa Sleight Bundle $45.75 – saves you 10% too.  The snowflake paper is from the This Christmas Designer Series Paper from the main 2015/2016 catalog. This paper is more lightweight and includes 24 sheets (12 x 12) instead of the usual 12.  Very Vanilla cardstock is torn across the top and layered along the bottom of the front of the card to give a clean spot for stamping the greeting.  I did not pop up any of the images so no extra postage is required These two cards use the new Detailed Santa Thinlits Dies and coordinating Greetings from Santa stamp set.  Purchasing the bundle –  #143524 $39.50 for clear mount and #143523 $46.75 for wood mount – saves you 10% too.  The card base is Pool Party and the Shimmery White cardstock is used for the die-cut piece as it is thicker and adds a little extra sparkle.  The top card has the greeting stamped directly on the card base as my first attempt at stamping on the Shimmery White was crooked.  These would make great shaker cards too I hope you enjoyed todays projects using some products from the new 2016 Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog.  You can view other products by clicking the 2016 Holiday Catalog link in the right side bar.  Please let me know if you would like to receive the Holiday catalog in the mail too – Happy...

Fresh Fruit cards from Stampin’ Up!

Fresh Fruit cards from Stampin’ Up!

The Fresh Fruit stamp set from the new Stampin’ Up! catalog is a really sweet set and perfect for summer cards!  It also coordinates beautifully with the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper.  I used the Layering Ovals and Layering Circles framelits for easy cutting and layering.  It always takes me longer to make the first card so if I like it, I try to make other cards similar in lay out to save time.   This card uses Old Olive cardstock as the base and a strip of the Fruit Stand DSP (2-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ I think!).  I inked up the pear image with So Saffron and then used a Sponge Dauber to add Old Olive ink to the edges before stamping on Whisper White cardstock.  The leaves are stamped with Pear Pizzazz and the greeting is stamped in Old Olive ink.   This card uses a Pear Pizzazz cardstock base with the greeting stamped in Crushed Cucumber (can’t remember the last time I used that color!).  I stamped the two strawberries in different colors:  one in Watermelon Wonder with a Pear Pizzazz stem (on the left) and the other in Real Red with a Crushed Cucumber stem to keep them from being too matchy-matchy   This card has such vibrant colors I decided a Whisper White card base would keep the colors brightest.  I stamped the larger flower in Watermelon Wonder and the smaller ones in Daffodil Delight and Peekaboo Peach.   The leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz and them trimmed separately to tuck under the flowers.  All the flowers and leaves are stamped with the matching outline image in Versamark and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder for a glossy, delicate outline.  I lightly curled the petals and leaves and added to the card with Glue Dots.  The flower centers and greeting are stamped with Early Expresso.   This card has a Pear Pizzazz base and the greeting is also stamped in Pear Pizzazz.  The Peach is inked first with So Saffron and then a Sponge Dauber is used to add Peekaboo Peach and Real Red ink for shading before stamping on Whisper White cardstock.  The leaves (same as used in the floral card) are stamped in Pear Pizzazz. I really enjoyed creating this cards using the Fresh Fruit set from Stampin’ Up! and hope you’ll be inspired to create some of your own   Thank you for stopping by – please leave me a comment below and let me know what you...

Rose cards created with a stencil!

Rose cards created with a stencil!

I’ve always been drawn to the floral stamps and had a fabulous time crafting these rose cards created with a stencil:   This was a project at my recent stamp camps and I couldn’t wait to make more in a variety of colors.  The Rose Garden Thinlits dies are available as a bundle with the Rose Wonder stamp set but they can be used alone too.  I die-cut a “stencil” from Whisper White cardstock and the largest rose die.  The stencil is placed on top of Whisper White cardstock (5″ x 3-3/4″) and inks are sponged on top with a Sponge Dauber. Here are the list of supplies: Rose Garden Thinlits #140619 $31 Rose Garden Thinlits with Rose Wonder stamp set bundle #140804 $49.25 Whisper White cardstock (5″ x 3-3/4″) Basic Black cardstock (5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″) Pear Pizzazz cardstock (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″) Inks (Hello Honey, Rose Red, Old Olive) Sponge Daubers Dimensionals Versamark Clear Embossing Powder Glue Dots Once you make one, you have to make more – they are so easy!  Here are some of the other color combinations: Hello Honey and Rose Red Pink Pirouette and Rose Red Pool Party and Island Indigo Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant   Then you can make more cards with the used stencils as they have the same color inks from all the sponging.  I covered the inked up stencils with Versamark and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder for a shiny, enamel look and then added them to a cardfront with Glue Dots. I also have a video tutorial for the rose cards created with a stencil on my Keenan Kreations YouTube channel: Floral cards are so versatile and work for a variety of occasions.  I hope you enjoyed today’s project and will be inspired to create some rose cards with a stencil for your family and...
