Easy to create Fall card perfect for Thanksgiving!

Posted by on September 12, 2018 in fall, Featured, Thanksgiving | 10 comments

This fall card is quick and easy to create thanks to the pumpkin printed paper from Stampin’ Up!  The Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper is Halloween themed but the pumpkin design is neutral enough for fall or Thanksgiving too.  This card features traditional fall colors of Pumpkin Pie and Soft Suede with accents of copper.

I think every card is instantly “stepped up” when you add an embossed background and the Tin Tile Dynamic Embossing Folder is one of my new favorites from the 2018 Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog.  It is stunning with the new Galvanized Metallic Paper but also very pretty on regular cardstock.  The greeting is from the Country Home stamp set but you could easily substitute with another greeting  (Happy Halloween, Thank You, etc…).  The framelit from Petals & More Thinlit dies is the perfect size and shape for the longer greetings and much fancier than simply cutting your cardstock in a rectangle shape.

Another way to step up your card making is to add an embellishment or two.  I couldn’t locate my Linen Thread so I cut the Burlap Ribbon to create separate strands (simply trim off one of the outside edges and the remaining strands will easily pull apart).  Three of the strands are taped around the back of the cardstock and a separate set of strands are tied into a simple knot and added with Glue Dots.  I stamped the detail leaf image from Painted Harvest in Versamark on Copper Foil and embossed with Copper Embossing Powder.  The embossed leaves are punched with the coordinating Leaf Punch and added to the card with Glue Dots and Dimensionals.

And don’t forget to decorate the envelope and the inside of your Fall card to match 🙂

Below are the measurements for cutting the cardstock and Designer Series Paper:
