Christmas Cards Kit from Stampin’ Up!

Check out these samples using supplies from a new Christmas Cards kit from Stampin’ Up! called Watercolor Winter:

Christmas Cards Kit from Stampin' Up!

The kit directions call for painting stripes with a watercolor brush and ink but that made me a little nervous so I chose to sponge the stripes with Coastal Cabana ink using the “Dots & Stripes” Decorative Masks.  I also added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the Vellum snowflake using the 2-way Glue Pen.  I used a new greeting from the holiday catalog instead of the little die-cut letters in the version below.

This is a version more similar to the one in the kit but in addition to sponging the stripes, I added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the stripes with a 2-way Glue Pen.  The letters are water colored with Bermuda Bay ink and added with Glue Dots to the twine.  I’ll be honest, that part was not easy but I’m going to try to figure out a quicker and easier way to work with those letters because they are stinking cute!  I added the Vellum snowflake to the card with a Glue Dot to the center and that’s covered up with strategic placement of the little letters 🙂

The die-cut “MERRY” letters and Vellum holly leaves are water colored with Old Olive ink and the greeting was from a new stamp set called Merry Everything that will be available August 28th in the new Holiday Catalog.  The white background is already embossed and ready to layer to the front of your card (you’ll receive 10 of these in the kit).

I love the diagonal Cherry Cobbler stripes on this card.  The die-cut trees are water colored with Old Olive ink and layered on top of die-cut Gold Glimmer Paper.  The “happy” is die-cut and the “HOLIDAYS” little letters were much easier to add with the Multi-purpose Adhesive.

This is my favorite design in the kit and I also changed it a bit from the directions in the kit.  I covered the Vellum snowflake with Versamark and embossed it with White Embossing Powder.  The sled is die-cut and watercolored with Cherry Cobbler ink.

This Christmas Cards kit includes the following supplies:

  • 20 card bases (5 each of 4 designs)
  • die-cut accents and background pieces (20 Vellum snowflakes, Gold Glimmer Paper accents, 5 sleds, 10 trees)
  • 20 envelopes (10 Coastal Cabana and 10 Crumb Cake)
  • Linen Thread
  • Sequins
  • Watercolor Brush

You would need to provide your own stamps, inks (Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler) and adhesives.  You’ll also receive some of the greetings in different languages in addition to English as well as extra little die-cut letters to customize your sentiments.

This Christmas Cards kit is a great way to jump start crafting your holiday cards and you’ll be able to order the Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit beginning August 28th (item #135869 $24.95).
