New Stampin’ Up! In Colors
Look how pretty the new 2014-2016 Stampin’ Up! In Colors are! The Swallowtail stamp is a great way to showcase the new colors and is easily applied using Sponge Daubers. This technique was featured in an older Keenan Kreations YouTube video:

The Swallowtail stamp is inked up with the following new Stampin’ Up! In colors before stamping onto Very Vanilla cardstock:
- Mossy Meadow
- Hello Honey
- Tangelo Twist
- Lost Lagoon
- Blackberry Bliss
I used a Sponge Dauber for each of the colors and started with the Mossy Meadow in the center of the butterfly and around the outside edges. You want to ink up the dauber really well and then “pat” the ink onto the stamp. If you rub the ink across the stamp, you won’t be adding very much color. You want to “pat, pat, pat” I then worked my way from the center to the outside edges in this order: Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist, Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss. It’s OK to overlap the colors a bit but not too much. You don’t want to muddy up the colors but you also don’t want to have any gaps between the colors either.
Once all the ink is applied to the stamp, you can stamp it onto the Very Vanilla cardstock which is cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and then layer it to the front of the folded Lost Lagoon cardstock. Now some stampers like to “huff” on the stamp to remoisten the ink before stamping but I have not found that to be necessary. The greeting is from the Wetlands stamp set and is inked with the Lost Lagoon color. I did try adding ribbon and then twine but it just didn’t need it so I chose instead to add some of the Pearls to the bottom left corner. It’s a pretty simple card but still really pretty, don’t you think?
