Easy Spring Card

It’s so quick and easy to create a bright and cheerful Spring card with a few punches and some pretty paper!  I have a lot of this pattern left over from the “Sweet Sorbet” Designer Series Paper from Sale-a-bration and thought it would make a cute background for this little bunny 🙂  You could easily substitute that paper with the floral pattern from “Gingham Garden” Designer Series Paper too.

Easy Spring Card

I feel a little guilty that this card doesn’t use any rubber stamps or ink – might very well be a first for me !

The base of the card is Whisper White (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″) and a perfect mat for the center panel.  When I first started making cards (almost 13 years ago!) I rarely if ever used Whisper White for the card base.  Lately, however, that’s my choice for a lot of the cards – I’m just loving white background these days!  The Whisper White is not as heavy as our colored cardstock so I still add an inside layer (4″ x 5 1/4″) to sturdy it up a bit and to balance out the top which can be a little top heavy.

The bunny ears are lightly curled with a Bone Folder and the bunny and one cloud are popped up with Dimensionals.  The ribbon is added in two pieces.  One piece goes across the bottom of the patterned paper (end are glued around the back) and a separate piece is tied into a bow and added with a Glue Dot.

This card is pretty straight forward but I do have a video tutorial:

Here’s the supply list:

I initially made this card to send out for Easter but thought it would also work well for an easy Spring card and decided to come up with some cute “bunny” sayings:

  • Hoppy Birthday
  • Some bunny loves you!
  • Some bunny is having a birthday!
  • Hop on over soon!

Leave me a comment below if  you can think of some other cute bunny-type sayings 🙂  I hope you enjoyed today’s project showing you how to create an easy card for Spring!
