New Watercolor Wonder Paper
I’m a sucker for pretty paper and LOVE the new Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog! Check out the pretty patterns:
When I first looked at the pattern below with the different colored circles, I immediately saw balloons
All I had to do was draw the strings with the Smoky Slate marker and add some highlights with the White Chalk marker:
I didn’t draw the strings on every single circle as I thought that might make the card too busy. The base of the card is Whisper White and is cut to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored down the middle at 4 1/4″. The Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper is cut to 5 1/4″ x 4″ so you can get 12 of these cards using the two 12″ x 12″ sheets of this pattern that come in the pack.
I added White Organza Ribbon around the paper and tied a knot in the front before layering it to the Whisper White card. The greeting is stamped in Gumball Green with the Label Something stamp set. Notice the little balloons in that image? Perfect for my balloon paper 😉 The greeting is punched with the Artisan Label Punch and added with Dimensionals.
This is also probably one of the quickest cards I’ve ever put together too When my kids were little, I liked to make the birthday cards for their friends but also knew that most kids were going to rip the envelope open, shake the card to see if any money fell out and toss it as they tore into the present! So I would make cards similar to this one that were inexpensive and quick and easy to create.
Here’s another idea for a kids birthday card. Use some of the wrapping paper and layer to the front of your card. Stamp a greeting in a matching ink, punch it out and pop it up with Dimensionals. It’s fast and easy and coordinates perfectly with the wrapped gift
I’ll be sharing more ideas using the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper on my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/KeenanKreations over the new few days (maybe week so be sure to visit and let me know what you think.
