Happy New Year! card
Here’s a fairly simple card but still very elegant and perfect for a Happy New Year! card for your family and friends.
I don’t have any stamps specifically for New Year’s Day so I had to figure out something with what I had on hand. I knew I wanted black as the background and something sparkly but that was really it. I scanned all my stamps (I actually don’t have as many as you might think!) and only had one that would work – the Happy New Year! greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes. That is a MUST have stamp set as it has almost every greeting you could need for your cardmaking:
When I purchased the set, it was only available in wood but you can now choose either wood or clear mount:
- Teeny Tiny Wishes (clear mount) #127802, $26.95
- Teeny Tiny Wishes (wood mount) #128748, $36.95
Ok, back to the card 🙂 I pulled out my Typeset Bigz Die and die-cut the 2014 with Silver Glimmer Paper and Big Shot. I played with the placement of the numbers a bit and decided I wanted to feature the year on banners. I have a brand new Banners Framelits from the upcoming “Celebrate the Everyday” mini catalog (due out January 3rd 🙂 and die-cut 4 banners with the Champagne (isn’t that perfect for New Years?) Glimmer Paper and Big Shot. The new Banners Framelits has six different sizes and I used the second smallest one.
The greeting is stamped with Black Stazon on Whisper White cardstock and die-cut with the Bitty Banners Framelits and Big Shot. I needed a little more sparkle so a couple of Rhinestones are added to each end of the greeting. The numbers, banners and greeting are all popped up on Dimensionals. The Silver Ribbon is tied in two separate pieces. One piece is about 6″ long with the ends adhered to the back of the Basic Black cardstock (4″ x 5 1/4″). A separate piece is tied into a bow and added with a Glue Dot. The Whisper White cardstock is the standard card size: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″.
Here’s another Happy New Year! card using the Typeset Alphabet Bigz Die:
You can watch a video tutorial for the above card at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rfyj69cagMs. Can you guess what stamp set is used for the images across the top?
Thank you for stopping by today – I hope I’ve inspired you to create something from the heart 🙂 I wish you a safe and Happy New Year!
