Bright and Cheerful card
I’m back at Cottage Crafts in San Jose for “Make-a-card Monday” this month and think the girls will love this bright and cheerful card using some new products from the “Celebrate the Everyday” catalog! I’ll be honest in saying that it took me a LONG time to warm up to Summer Starfruit but now I really like it and might even miss it when it retires in May 😉
I tried to resist buying yet another floral stamp set but I LOVE the images in “Simple Stems” and two of them also coordinate with the Secret Garden Framelits. This is a pretty basic layout and I’ll be sharing some samples using this template with other stamp sets in my January newsletter. If you haven’t already, you can subscribe to my newsletters with the sign-up box in the right sidebar 🙂
The tag on this card is created with the new Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and is a great way to accent the flower. I trimmed the flower with our Paper Snips and left a little white border all the way around the image. I share some tips for trimming in a video tutorial for this card that you can view on my YouTube Channel at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDBiS9eLJ4Y. Here’s a list of supplies for this bright and cheerful card:
Stamps: Simple Stems, Lacy & Lovely
Ink: Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green
Paper: Summer Starfruit, Whisper White, 2012-2014 Designer Series Paper Stack, Silver Glimmer Paper
Accessories: Silver 1/8″ Ribbon, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Dimensionals, Piercing Mat, Essentials Piercing Pack, Paper Piercing Tool, Glue Dots
Here’s a couple other variations of this card using different color combinations:
(Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green)
Did you notice the pattern in the Gumball Green Designer Series Paper? It closely resembles the shape of the tag topper, right?!
The Silver Glimmer Paper is also on sale for $3.71 as part of the Weekly Deals that ends tomorrow:

I’m very excited to see everyone today at Cottage Crafts in San Jose – I’ll be there from 11:30-1:30pm. I think they are going to love creating this bright and cheerful card using new products from the “Celebrate the Everyday” catalog!
