Masculine cards

I needed some more masculine cards in my stash and came up with these two cards which will also be the make-n-take choices at Cottage Crafts on Monday:

I kept the layout the same and used a 2″ x 5 1/4″ strip of the Sweater Weather Designer Series paper.  The top card base is Chocolate Chip and the solid image leaf from Gently Falling was inked in Soft Sky and then Tangerine Tango was patted around the edges before stamping.  The outline leaf was stamped directly on top with Chocolate Chip ink.

This card base is Soft Suede and the leaf colors are Crushed Curry (first time I’ve used that color since it’s return 🙂 and Tangerine Tango.

I think masculine cards are sometimes easier since the layout is usually simpler but that doesn’t mean you can’t add some embellishments.  Linen Thread is doubled and tied between the leaf and greeting and Gold Brads are added to the top left of the designer series paper.  I used the Essentials Piercing Pack to evenly space the brads.  The stamped panel is also popped up on Dimensionals.

Both of these cards would also work well for Thanksgiving wishes but I’m going to send one to my youngest son the second we drop him off for college on Thursday.  So is there someone special that you could send a masculine card to?
