"Christmas Jingle" holiday cards

Here are some samples for an upcoming holiday card class. Patty Bennett did a great presentation awhile back at the Oakland Regional and showed how to make 36 4×4 cards from a Simply Scrappin’ kit. I liked the idea but still wanted a traditional card size of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ so decided to layer my 4″ x 4″ card (cardstock is cut 4″ x 8″ and folded in half) onto a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of cardstock and tie some 5/8″ Grosgrain ribbon to the side. I think they turned out great 🙂 I’m hoping to get more samples posted later tonight but here’s 11 so far (using only 1/2 of the Simply Scrappin’ Kit – still have lots of leftovers to work with).

  1. Your cards are awesome Brenda. Thanks for sharing!

  2. I love all your Christmas cards! I don’t think we have this kit in Australia but thanks for all the inspiration- I will have to try some of them with what we have available here!

  3. I love your Christmas cards! I notice a lot of the adhesive die cuts you used are popped up on dimensionals…do you back the die cuts with anything? I’m afraid they would stick in odd places to the card while going through the mail.

  4. “jenny4wheel” – I add Dimensionals to the back of the die-cuts, leave the backing on the dimensionals, pat the Embossing Buddy all over the exposed sticky on the die-cut, then remove the back of the dimensionals and layer to your card 🙂

  5. Really awesome! I just made a set of cards with this kit today! I love it!

I have a question about your ribbon on the cards…how do you have it tied on?

  6. Love, love, love this idea! I am in the planning stages for a Christmas Card Class featuring this Simply Scrappin’ Kit. I, too, liked Patty’s 4×4 card ideas, but thought that maybe my attendees might prefer the traditional size card…so your cards are perfect!! Thanks so much for sharing!! 7. These turned out great!!!! I think I might get a pack too! Thanks for the great idea Brenda!
