3-D cards class

Here are the projects for my “3-D Cards Class” next week:

This is a bright and cheerful card inspired by Michele Force whose original can be seen here:

The stamp set is “Petal Pizazz” and the sentiments are from “One of a Kind” and “It’s Your Birthday.” Images are stamped in Riding Hood Red, So Saffron and Kiwi Kiss, some are trimmed and popped up on dimensionals. The buttons are die cut too 🙂
This is a fun “free-standing pop-up” card, directions and the card I cased from Mary Jo can be found at: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/freestandingpopupcard/
“Eastern Blooms” images are stamped in Old Olive, Pink Passion, So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie. The little colored flowers on the branches are punched out with the 1/4″ circle punch (now retired?) and added with Mini Glue dots. This card also folds flat for mailing in a regular size envelope 🙂
I was inspired by Lorri’s card which can be seen here:

My card base is the standard 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ folded in half. The top piece is 6 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 1/2″ and 1″ on both sides. For the opening, I used the 1 3/8″ square punch and pushed it in all the way and punched a few times overlapping a little in the middle. I layered the Good Morning Sunshine DSP directly to the Kiwi cardstock but it was a little bulky when folding on the score lines. I have to tweak that a bit to make it easier for the class but I like the look of the DSP – it’s just too flimsy on it’s on. “Cheep Talk” is the stamp set and the inks are Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie and Pacific Point. The card does fold flat for mailing in a standard envelope but needs extra postage because of the ribbon. Side and inside views are shown below:
