kids go back to school tomorrow!
I love my boys but I’m SO HAPPY that they are both going to be in school tomorrow. My oldest started last week but the youngest starts tomorrow. They are 12 and 14 and are driving me crazy! They are good boys, I just need a little peace and quiet. It’s just going to be me and my quiet dogs (well, the lab is quiet, the terrier/poodle mix has some issues) and quiet cat. I’m in heaven just thinking about it Yes, I have tons of laundry and housework but at least it’ll be quiet Here are a couple of scrapbook pages showing their sweet side (don’t know where it’s gone these past few days but I’m sure it’ll show up again soon
This one is one of two pages for Nate’s 12th birthday. I used the “Creative License” Simply Scrappin’ Kit (Level 1 Hostess set) for a quick and easy page. The title uses “Well Worn” jumbo alphabet and I added some Vintage brads. My journaling looks neater than usual because I used the imaging sheets to help keep the lines somewhat straight. I just placed the sheet on the cardstock and wrote directly above it and moved it down for each additional line. I love the look of journaling typed on the computer but I’m a stickler for having my own handwriting on my scrapbook pages. I have some old cards and letters from my mom and instantly recognize her handwriting when I see them. I don’t even have to read the words, just seeing her handwriting gives me a very warm feeling inside – I hope my boys will feel the same when they see mine.
This was a make-n-take at this year’s Stampin’ Up! convention in Denver, Colorado. I added the photo of Danny (my oldest) when I got home. The picture was taken in our cabin while on a cruise to the Panama Canal last spring. That was the first cruise I earned from Stampin’ Up!. I recently earned another and we will be cruising to Bermuda in April
This page is 6×6 and uses the new “Wanted” set, “Outlaw” designer series papers, Scallop Circle, 1″ Circle, Photo Corner and Star punches.
They really are sweet boys, anyone who’s met them will tell you the same, but there’s something about becoming a teenager that changes them. I won’t go into details here because I already embarass them enough as it is but if you have teenage boys, I’m certain you know exactly what I’m talking about I just can’t wait till tomorrow, peace and quiet…
