6 x 6 Creative License page

I love this picture of Danny and Nathan. Mostly because Nathan is usually the one pulling practical jokes but this time Danny was able to sneak one in on his unsuspecting brother 🙂

The “Creative License” Simply Scrappin’ Kit is a Level 1 Hostess item and is one of my favorites. The base is Wild Wasabi textured cardstock with a 1 1/2″ strip of the patterned paper. The little stripe to the side is a self-adhesive die-cut strip. I popped up the journaling block and the little embellishment to the right with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Because all the die-cuts have adhesive on the back, you need to first apply the dimensionals but be sure to leave the paper backing on while you dust the sticky part with our Embossing Buddy (just pounce it to get the powder flying which will coat the sticky part). Then you pull off the paper backing and adhere it to your page. I have a hard time stapling ribbon to cardstock or die-cuts because I need it to be perfectly straight. So a “cheater” way to do this is to fold the ribbon over like in the photo then staple just the ribbon to keep its shape. Then put a glue dot on the back and stick it where you want it and no one’s the wiser 🙂 The photo is layered on Pumpkin Pie cardstock (4″ x 5″) and the Photo Corner punch adds a little balance to page with Blue Bayou cardstock (paper-pierced of course). I also like to use the Mini Glue dots on the pierced pierce so my little holes stay looking pierced (roll-on adhesive flattens it out and the little holes get filled in a bit, doesn’t work for me).

You’ll probably notice from my samples that I like symmetry and need to have things “just so.” My son says I’m a lot like Monk (the obsessive-compulsive detective) but I like Monk so I’m OK with that 🙂
